David B. Wiest
Mr. Wiest has a growing trust and estates practice where he advises individuals on estate planning and helps families manage the passing of loved ones. He regularly drafts wills, trusts, powers of attorney–from the simple to the complex. Mr. Wiest guides families through estate administration, which may include probating the estate or helping administer small estates outside of court. Whether providing counsel to executors in multi-million dollar estates or helping a family manage an estate with few assets, Mr. Wiest treats his clients with respect and enjoys listening and helping them solve their problems.
Mr. Wiest regularly advises corporate trustees and fiduciaries in trust, estate, and tax issues.
In addition to his trust and estates practice, Mr. Wiest handles labor and employment matters. He has served as counsel in negotiating a collective bargaining agreement for a municipality with its 200-plus-member police union. He has successfully arbitrated grievances and represented employers in all phases of the grievance procedure. Mr. Wiest regularly advises employers and non-profit organizations on employment matters.
Mr. Wiest also helps his clients with real estate transactions, business and corporate work, and tax preparation.
A life-long Peoria-area native, Mr. Wiest cares deeply about his community. He is a leader in the community and devotes many hours to local charities and organizations.
