William P. Streeter
WILLIAM P. STREETER was born in Burbank, California in 1962. He attended Stanford University and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1984, and obtained his law degree from UCLA School of Law in 1989. Named a “Leading Lawyer” by his peers, Mr. Streeter has been providing legal services to clients in central Illinois since 1992.
Bill represents local governmental bodies, including municipalities, and park districts. He advises clients regarding general municipal matters, FOIA, Open Meetings Act, and municipal litigation. He also has extensive experience with tax increment financing (TIF) issues.
Mr. Streeter’s agriculture law practice includes the representation of grain elevators throughout the state of Illinois. Bill helps those clients with grain contracts, employment, and general corporate matters, and has also assisted several elevators with mergers into other elevators. He has given presentations at trade association conventions on various topics, including the importance of using well drafted contracts.
Mr. Streeter has extensive experience in residential and commercial real estate matters. That experience includes home sales and purchases, as well as multi-million dollar commercial projects.
Bill also represents small to medium sized businesses in most aspects of their needs, from start up to drafting contracts to real estate to litigation.
Mr. Streeter assists banks with commercial loans, including document drafting and review. He also helps banks with collection of loans in default.
Bill’s experience representing banks, municipalities, and businesses gives him insight into all sides of a development transaction. He is therefore uniquely able to guide his clients through complex transactions.
Mr. Streeter also has experience representing clients against utilities, and has made multiple appearances before the Illinois Commerce Commission opposing large electric and gas companies.
