Labor Law

Hasselberg Grebe Snodgrass Urban & Wentworth has significant experience in all phases of labor law. Primarily representing employers, we have represented both public and private entities. We take pride in advising and advocating for our clients.

On behalf of both public and private-sector employers, we have negotiated many collective bargaining agreements. We are experienced in impasse resolutions, such as interest arbitration. Recently, our firm served as chief negotiators on behalf of a municipality in contract negotiations with its 200-member police union.

We routinely represent employers in the grievance procedure, from investigation, the step process, and through arbitration. While we will seek to resolve grievances if possible, our firm is ready to try cases and obtain results before an arbitrator or a court. Recently, we successfully defended a termination decision on behalf of a municipality that made its way to the Illinois Supreme Court.

Our law firm also has experience representing employers in many other areas, such as unfair labor practice proceedings, Fair Labor Standards Act matters, and risk management and human resources issues.

Our Partners Ken Snodgrass and David Wiest head our Labor Law team along with the assistance of our partner Kevin Day.
