Landfill Siting, Permits and Enforcement

The environmental law attorneys at Hasselberg Grebe Snodgrass Urban & Wentworth, in Peoria, have represented municipalities, counties and other units of local government, citizens, citizen groups and environmental organizations throughout Central and Northern Illinois in toxic, hazardous and municipal landfill siting hearings, permit modifications, permit renewals, citizen enforcement actions, Toxic Substances Control Act matters, and RCRA delisting adjusted standard petitions before the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, Illinois Pollution Control Board, Illinois Circuit Court, and Illinois Appellate Courts, including administrative review before the Illinois Pollution Control Board, Illinois Appellate Court, and Illinois Supreme Court.

Coal Mining Permits and Enforcement

We have represented citizens and citizen groups in Illinois Surface Coal Mining Land Conservation and Reclamation Act matters, including surface coal mining permits and administrative appeals before the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Mines and Minerals, Land Reclamation Division (“Department”); participated in rulemaking proceedings; and lands unsuitable for mining petitions before the Department, including administrative review before the Illinois Circuit Court and Illinois Appellate Court.

Pollution Control Board

Our lawyers have represented clients in enforcement matters before the Illinois Pollution Control Board involving the air, water and land.
